Privacy policy

Effective September 7, 2026

This policy explains how Amenti Labs LLC ("we") handles information in Smart TV Remote & Control, shown as TV Remote on your device, and on this support website. The app does not require an account.

TV discovery and control

With Local Network permission, the app discovers compatible devices and sends remote commands over your local network. It uses information such as a TV's name, network address, model, device identifier, capabilities, input list, and reported state to connect and display controls.

Saved TVs, preferences, layouts, and shortcuts are stored on your device. Pairing credentials and the app's TV-pairing client identifier are stored in iOS Keychain and shared with the app's own extensions where needed. Pairing PINs and TV authentication tokens are not sent to Superwall or included in the app's analytics events. Forgetting a TV removes its saved pairing credentials.

Media and casting

When you choose photos or videos to cast, the selected receiver can fetch that media from a temporary server in the app over your local network. Session-specific URLs limit access to the media you have selected. This local transfer is not an upload to an Amenti Labs media server. A link you choose to cast is sent to the receiver so it can request the media from its source.

The app includes Google's Cast SDK for compatible receivers. Optional Cast analytics logging is disabled. The SDK may still process operational diagnostics and device, network, approximate-region, and interaction information to provide and maintain casting. Google and the receiver's services process information under their own policies, including Google's privacy policy. Streaming services you open on a TV also have their own policies.

Purchases and paywalls

Apple processes purchases and subscription payments. The app reads transaction and entitlement status to enable Pro. We do not receive your payment-card details.

We use Superwall to deliver purchase screens, manage offer presentation, and understand how those screens perform. Superwall processes purchase and subscription status, a pseudonymous app-user identifier and device/vendor identifiers, app and operating-system version, device type, language and region settings, approximate location inferred from an IP address, and paywall interactions. The app also supplies onboarding-variant and free-control-use counts for offer presentation. These records can be associated with the same app installation even though you do not create an account.

If you choose to respond to an in-app feedback survey, its answers may be processed by Superwall. We use this information for app functionality and analytics, not cross-app advertising. See Superwall's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.

Mixpanel and advertising-attribution integrations are not enabled in this release. The app does not display advertising or request the advertising identifier for ad tracking.

Permissions

Local Network access lets the app find and communicate with TVs and casting receivers. The system media picker gives the app access to the items you select. Other permissions are requested only when an available feature needs them; permissions listed by iOS do not mean every TV supports that feature. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

Support and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments or diagnostic details you choose to send. The app's support message may include app version, device/OS information, and TV model or transport details. You can review it before sending. We use support messages to respond and troubleshoot.

This website has no advertising, analytics scripts, cookies set by this site's code, or contact form. Our hosting provider processes ordinary connection information, such as IP address, browser information, requested page, and request time, to serve and protect the site.

Retention, choices, and requests

Local settings remain until you change them, remove saved data, or delete the app. Keychain items can survive app deletion; forget saved TVs before deleting the app to remove their pairing credentials. Removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Service and support records are retained as needed to provide functionality, answer support requests, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Their retention depends on the relevant service and purpose. You can ask about access, correction, or deletion by emailing contact@amentilabs.com. We may need information to locate the relevant records and confirm the request. Because no app account is required, we may not be able to identify installation-specific records from your email address alone. Apple manages its own transaction records.

Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. We do not sell your personal information or use these app data flows for cross-app targeted advertising. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location. The app is not designed for children under 13; contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Contact Amenti Labs LLC at contact@amentilabs.com with privacy questions.
